Fading Heart The Stelladaur Series Book 2 S L Whyte Books

Fading Heart The Stelladaur Series Book 2 S L Whyte Books
It is a rare day when I spend my free time reading a fiction book, preferring non-fiction, but 'Fading Heart' was worth it! I read it over two evenings, curious to see if the story would have similarities to Book 1 'Finding Tir Na Nog'. Book 1 was wonderfully descriptive of places and I enjoyed the birds and animals, as they were so alive, if you knew how to listen. In 'Fading Heart', I was drawn in by the characters...Reilly, Lottie, the Irish community, and the decidedly dark Deceptors. The story flowed between wistful and sad, charming and cheery, dark and dangerous. It would be a great read-aloud book for Upper Elementary age. The highlight, for me, were the threads of truth and wisdom that weave a tapestry throughout the pages. I will read 'Fading Heart' again, just to highlight those truths. S. L. Whyte is finding her rhythm, as a new author, and I can't wait for Book 3 in the Stelladaur series.Product details

Fading Heart The Stelladaur Series Book 2 S L Whyte Books Reviews
This book is a page turner for sure, dark in places, but full of bright contrasts. Good versus evil is explored in new ways, causing a reader of any age to consider questions of depth. It seems suitable for readers age 13 and beyond because of some violence that could possibly upset younger readers. Though I don't normally choose fantasy, this fast-paced book hooked me and kept my interest til the end, leaving me looking forward to the next book in the series.
This is book two of the series, and I read the one that came before this, and enjoyed it. Whyte spins a great story and draws the reader in this YA fantasy. I know it's the YA genre, but any readers who love a good fantasy and coming of age story will be drawn to this. The details of this story were important to the story and the reader, so it's like you're right there, in the middle of it. It was a great pace for this story, and brought to life all of the characters. The emotions were right there, spilling of the page, both light and dark. I look forward to the next one in the series.
I received this book free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. ~Amy's Bookshelf Reviews
